Love Food, Love Lincolnshire, Love Tastes Of Lincolnshire Events

Tastes of Lincolnshire is inviting residents and visitors to the county to treat their taste buds in 2008! Great flavours, fair prices and local good quality produce are key themes for all the events and are extremely important to the producers attending them.

From award winning cheeses or sizzling sausages and seasonal vegetables to cuisine tips and cooking demonstrations there is always something to do, see and buy which makes these events a good opportunity to come and see why the county is famed for food!

With a splattering of food affairs happening across the county, Tastes of Lincolnshire has hand-picked this year's tastiest events.

February
25th

Tastes of Lincolnshire Awards
An annual awards ceremony which celebrates the produce of Lincolnshire and recognises those tourism businesses in the county such as pubs, cafes, accommodation and restaurants that go the extra mile to champion local produce on their menus and throughout their businesses.

Judged through a series of mystery shopping exercises the winners will be presented with their awards in a lunchtime ceremony.

March
29th

Spring's Tastes of Lincolnshire Food Fair
Visitors can enjoy a fresh spring day out in the county of Lincolnshire. The ever popular food fair is a great opportunity to find a host of people passionate about food and the county all under one roof. Sample fantastic cheeses, wines, beers, fudge, chocolate, ice cream, crisps and take home some scrumptious produce to try at home.

Held in Horncastle, the food fair is the perfect start to a day of antiques shopping or exploring this pretty market town.

Countryside Day at Market Rasen Races
Lincolnshire's most famous races host a great event to celebrate all things countryside in Lincolnshire. With food, entertainment and local craft and arts producers all attending the day, it promises to be fun for all ages whether racing enthusiasts or not!

3rd-6th

Love Food Love Lincolnshire at the Royal Show
Lincolnshire moves to the Royal Show for this prestigious event. The Lincolnshire pavilion will be a food lover's haven, with a range of traditional fayre as well as prizes and entertainment throughout the event.

It's a good opportunity to get a taste of Lincolnshire. There will be further details on the press events and activities to come.

Autumn's Tastes of Lincolnshire Food Fair
Held in Market Rasen the fair offers a great opportunity to meet people who are passionate about Lincolnshire; the food and the county!

As the autumn shades appear on the trees, many begin to think about winter foods; hearty hotpots with Lincoln Red Beef or Lincolnshire sausage and buttery mash.

Some of the county's best butchers and cattle farms display their top quality produce at the fair, along with cheese, sweets and organic vegetable producers, all offering the tastiest Lincolnshire fayre.

The Lincolnshire Sausage Festival
Celebrate one of Lincolnshire's most famous foods.the sausage! This event has the beautiful backdrop of Lincoln Cathedral and Castle. The cobbled square, between the two attractions, fills with all manner of food and fun. The quirky event is just one of the food festivals in Lincolnshire. The county is also home to the World Egg Throwing Championships and the Pumpkin Festival!

November
29th-30th

Tastes of Lincolnshire Christmas Food and Drink Fair
The grandest food fair in the county and the largest one of the year takes place at the Lincolnshire showground. Stall holders offer the very finest Lincolnshire produce and a chance to snap up some early Christmas presents. The weekend event is a great day out for all the family with competitions, music, food and drink, arts and crafts and lots for homes and gardens. This year the event is scheduled to be held in the Epic centre which is a brand new eco-friendly conference/exhibition facility.


Approximately 20% of all of the UK produce comes from Lincolnshire.

The Tastes of Lincolnshire logo helps visitors and residents to the county identify local businesses that are passionate about Lincolnshire produce and offer a good selection on their menus or in their shops.

With members ranging from butchers to fine dining restaurants a current list of tourism businesses passionate about Lincolnshire's food fayre can be found in the Good Taste magazine.

The Good Taste publication, which is produced by Tastes of Lincolnshire, offers readers a host of food related reading from recipe suggestions and local producer's success stories to learning more about the foodstuffs that have helped put the county on the map.
